July 18, 2026

These past few months have been going quite smoothly for me. However, since my Guru’s upcoming visit to the UK two weeks ago, various obstacles and hindrances have arisen one after another.

I had planned to personally greet my Guru at the airport with a custom-made, two-meter-tall banner, but various things came up at the last minute, and I couldn’t get away. Later, my Guru asked me to attend an empowerment ceremony given by the Sakya Trizin, but due to being tied up with other commitments and my own lack of merit, this also fell through. 😂

However, I knew very well in my heart that the more obstacles and hindrances there were, the more it indicated that the tantric teachings my Guru was about to impart were extremely profound, hence all the obstacles and hindrances.

Today, I overcame all difficulties and decided to go all out, driving to London just to see my Guru as soon as possible.

I bought tickets for a 2:30 PM visit to Buckingham Palace, but by the time I arrived it was already past 3 PM. I thought I definitely wouldn’t be able to get in, but to my surprise, I entered without any problems.

Even more coincidentally, because I was in such a rush to leave, I forgot my printed tickets at home. I was immediately annoyed by my carelessness, thinking I definitely wouldn’t be able to get an annual pass, since it required a printed and signed ticket. Unexpectedly, the clerk at the service center kindly reprinted the tickets for me, and after I signed them, I successfully got my annual pass.

I then assumed the Guru had already arrived, but it turned out that due to the subway cancellation, his group was also late. When I called to contact him, the Guru was actually just a few meters away from me.

At that moment, I finally understood why I had been able to enter smoothly despite being late, and why I had even managed to get an annual pass by sheer coincidence. Everything made me deeply feel the Guru’s incredible blessings.

Since first meeting the Guru in London last year and receiving his compassionate blessings, my heart has been filled with longing, even developing some attachments.

Actually, I don’t care at all what teachings my Guru gives. Whatever he teaches, I’m willing to listen. For me, just being by my Guru’s side gives me a continuous, indescribable blessing.

And all of this stems from a special karmic connection two and a half years ago. Since then, I’ve found myself more sensitive to the blessings of great masters than before. Sometimes, the blessings I feel by a great master are experiences that other fellow practitioners may not share.

Last night, I was packing and tidying up until 3 a.m. for today’s trip to London, and then I got up again at 7 a.m., only getting four hours of sleep. Yet, even now, I don’t feel tired at all. Perhaps it’s the iced coffee I drank this afternoon that’s working, but I prefer to believe it’s my Guru’s blessing. Every time I’m with my Guru, I feel exceptionally clear-headed and energetic, as if all fatigue has vanished. I’m grateful for my Guru’s compassionate blessings!

Today, I also heard my Guru discussing mantra recitation with several fellow practitioners. I asked my guru, “Does casually reciting mantras have merit?” Without hesitation, he replied, “Of course. Casual recitation is always better than no recitation at all.” I then asked, “Then what mantra is suitable for me?” He said, “You don’t need to recite mantras.” My guru truly understands me. I’ve never been one to enjoy reciting mantras. As a Vajrayana disciple, it seems reciting mantras isn’t the right path for me.

Along the way, wherever my guru went, fellow practitioners would always surround him with questions. He was always patient, using apt and vivid metaphors to explain profound Dharma teachings in a simple and easy-to-understand way, leaving a lasting impression.

While we were still pondering his answers, he was already there, smiling radiantly. Even now, his smiling face often appears in my mind. I think that smile is deeply etched in my heart.

Something else happened today that left a deep impression on me. A fellow practitioner drove to Buckingham Palace to meet my guru, but on the way, he received a call from his son, saying that his son and husband had a heated argument. Remembering the last time her family had been in such a state, even involving the police, she was filled with worry.

So she called her Guru for advice. The moment the call connected, the Guru’s first words were a laugh: “The police are here.” Hearing this made her even more anxious. Then, the Guru assured her that everything was fine at home and told her to continue her journey to Buckingham Palace.

However, she was still uneasy and ultimately turned back home midway. When she arrived home, she found that her husband and son had already calmed down, and everything was peaceful. She later deeply regretted not listening to her Guru, not only making a wasted trip but also wasting a ticket.

Today passed especially quickly, filled with many warm little moments: eating with the Guru, riding the train together, drinking iced coffee together… seemingly ordinary, yet all rare blessings. Actually, I don’t ask for much; just being able to quietly stay by the Guru’s side is enough for me.
