At the end of the nineteenth century, His Eminence the 2nd Palme Khyentse Rinpoche, manifestation of Manjushri, demonstrated various miraculous achievements in the distant Qinghai Province, where he propagated Buddhist Dharma and benefitted many sentient beings. During this time, he prophesied that one of his many emanations would be reincarnated in a Chinese-speaking region to benefit the Chinese people. Although many great lineage masters have manifested in the history of Tibetan Buddhism, very few masters and tertöns have specifically prophesied that they would dedicate themselves to propagating Buddhism in a predominantly Chinese-speaking region. The 2nd Palme Khyentse Rinpoche was clearly an exception in this regard, and his terma revelations have a special karmic relationship with students of Chinese ethnicity.
Under the eager expectations many lineage masters, as well as the sincere prayers of numerous faithful disciples, His Eminence the 3rd Palme Khyentse Rinpoche (Dr. Huang Ying Chieh) picked up where he left off regarding the aspirations of his past life and established the Khyentse Enlightenment Mandala. We aim to establish a fully Chinese systematic program of scholarship, analysis, and meditation of sutra and tantra, based on the teachings of various knowledgeable and experienced gurus from both the old (Nyingma) and new (Sarma) schools of Tibetan Buddhism. We will work to assemble a community of members with the same broad long-term vision to make this comprehensive system of study and practice fully available in Chinese to anyone interested in engaging in a worthy spiritual journey. Buddhist teachings are among the most precious treasures human civilization has ever had to offer, and we hope to offer this treasure to all motherlike sentient beings and all sentient beings with a past karmic connection as a way to guide them to temporary and ultimate happiness.
Building on the foundation of wisdom and merit from Palme Khyentse's successive incarnations, the translation, editing, and dissemination of both exoteric and esoteric Buddhist teachings are carried out in a more organized and systematic manner. Chinese disciples will be able to deeply engage with the Dharma teachings and practice properly due to the removal of language and cultural barriers. This is the purpose of establishing the Khyentse Enlightenment Mandala. May everyone uphold their vows and seize this rare opportunity, contributing their human resources, finances, and materials to collectively undertake this historically significant and immensely challenging bodhisattva activity, fulfilling a historical promise.

"The Dharma is everyone's responsibility. Whether the Dharma can be transmitted depends on everyone's diligent study, contemplation, and practice—only then can it continue."
